Top Isle of Wight hotels
This is a funny place, its almost like a pearl warehouse, with some dodgy decoration along the way, very pink, very fake oriental & an amusing South Sea Islands (I think!) area where you can chose an x-rayed Oyster & the pearl is taken out for you. The jewelery here is very reasonably priced, during out short time here 2 coach loads of older holiday makers turned up & people seemed to be buying so much! Pearl Jewelery
Oasis is a wonderful shop with a deceptively boring exterior. We passed by this shop most days & it was only on our last day on the Island we stopped off just to kill a bit of time. Inside is an Aladdins cave of wonderful Fair Trade Balinese furniture & ornaments, plus lots other other unsual & ethnic niknaks all at excellent prices too! If I lived on the Island I would definately do my furniture shopping here!
We visited the Garlic Farm, first thing in the morning, not the best time to go testing Garlic recipes & pickles but it was still an interesting little place. Lots of different pickes & sauces for you to try, all made at the farm, from farm grown Garlic. Great names include Cheeky Monkey relish to Transylvanian pickle and Vampires revenge. There is a sheet of garlic recipes people have given the farm for you to take & you can add your own recipes to be added on to the next print. They even have a Garlic Festival for 2005 it is on the 20-21st August. Check out their excellent website for more details. Garlic condiments
