Boats on the Solent by freya_heaven The Isle of Wight is famous for its association with sailing, especially Cowes week which is a HUGE regatta and event in the sailing calender with nearly 1000 boats taking part. This year it is taking place on the 30 July to 6 August. Even if you are not a sailor yourself there is a wonderful atmosphere on the Island during this time. There are many sailing schools all over the Island, it is a popular place to learn, the website below has lists of all the schools. Leave a Comment

Isle of Wight Signposts by freya_heaven The Isle of Wight is a walkers paradise, there are over 500 miles trails & official footpaths all over the Island. The island even holds an Isle of Wight Walking Festival, the dates for this year are 7th-22nd May 2005. From any of the many tourist offices on the island you can pick up information on the nearest paths, I also noticed lots of horse riding trail signs too. Leave a Comment
