The Lighhouse Capel - Le - Ferne by nhcram The Lighthouse is a public house that does fairly standard food. The quality is OK but it has a good atmosphere in the place itself. The food is mostly steak, chicken curry etc. The desserts are good though. On the Old Dover road between Dover and Folkestone and ideally situated.
When I last went I had the steak and it was good Leave a Comment Theme: Pub/BreweryPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Old Dover Road Capel - Le - Ferne.Directions: Between Dover and Folkestone

The Mariner by nhcram This pub is in the harbour at Folkestone and offers an excellent menu. Their fresh fish is their speciality.
My husband and I enjoyed an excellent seafood platter which was beautifully served and although not cheap was excellent value for money. Leave a Comment Theme: Pub/BreweryPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Folkestone Harbour.

SEAFOOD AT ITS VERY BEST by whitecliff62 Before i start, this is not a seafood restaurant, but a seafood stall, and its far better and cheeper than a restaurant. This place has been here all my life and you will not taste better crabs or cockles anywhere in England. It is very poplar in the summer, you can buy a plate of prawns or cockles and sit with a pint of beer at the pub oppersitt WHAT COULD BE BETTER
My favorite dish has to be there crabs Leave a Comment Theme: SeafoodPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: TRAM ROAD FOLKESTONEDirections: OLKESTONE HARBOUR AREA OF FOLKESTONE

RESTAURANT by whitecliff62 This restaurant has been open in Folkestone for as long as i can remember, they are actually freinds of my parents and as it was my fathers birthday a few weeks ago we decided to take him for a meal here. This is the first time we have eaten here for years and although the decore is like going back in time, the food is exeptional. I don't think its been decorated since my last visit in the 70s coz its still got flock wallpaper on the walls LOL, but so long as the food is good who cares
We actually hired the whole restaurant out for 1 night because there was a big party of us and the menu was pre arranged before hand. The owner prepared a whole roast pig for us with all the trimmings, superb stuff and not to be missed Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: about averageAddress: Tontine street, Folkestone, Kent

Not really a bar although there is a small seating area at one end. The main business is an excellent all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet and it is worth a mention just for that. No "all boiled rice and hunt the crispy duck" here, as attentive staff keep the varied and plentiful dishes well stocked. It's not cheap and you probably have to ask yourself if you are able to eat £13 worth of Chinese food but it is cheaper midweek and lunchtimes and is well worth a visit if you're hungry. THE ONE AND ONLY by whitecliff62 Giovanni's italian restaurant has always been my favourite place to eat, it is also very popular so you have to book early in advance. There menu is huge so its difficult to make your mind up what to eat. the staff are always welcoming and friendly and are italian born, i say this coz how many italian reataurants have you been in where the waiters are english, im not being funny but its just not the same is it. So it defintately has got an italian feel.
My favourites at Giovanni's are fried whitebait, which are tiny little fish deep fried in seasoned flour untill they are crispy. These you eat whole including the head and tails Mmmmmmm Loooovely. Also a mixed seafood platter which is squid, lemon sole, king prawns, skate and sea bass, wow is this tasty or what. Plus there steak is fab and its cooked in garlic and pernod. (ENJOY).
