    Beach

The beach in Margate was just perfect. I have no doubts why it has the proud heritage of being one of Britain’s first seaside resorts. I guess it's one of the best beaches on the East coast of England, as I've been to some places at the seaside and all of them had stones there. Margate has a sandy beach surrounded by high cliffs. The views are just fantastic there with sailing ships at the horizon.

    Town

Honestly I haven't checked the town area a lot, as our destination was the beach;-) But as we drove through Margate looked quite cosy, nice and perfect place for holidays. The center of the city is very close to the beach, so don't worry if you have forgot something at home or feel hungry and thirsty. You always can find what you need in the shops or restaurants near the beach just around 5-10 minutes of walking (depends on your location in the beach).

    The Beach

    by redflame100 Written Nov 15, 2004

After a brief trip to margate, the most exciting and nicest thing we could find was the beach. It was lovely and sandy and clean and there was a lovely view of the sunsetting across the beach and the sea.

I cant think of anything else to say about Margate as we thought the rest of it was awful. Sorry.

Its okay I will explain the name !! Bem Bom is the town's fun park. Rollercoasters and other rides are available. You pay 1 price to get in then you can go on any ride. A great place to go for a couple of hours if youve finished on the beach.

    Lifeboat man statue

by bumpychick Written Sep 25, 2010

This statue can be found looking out to sea, just opposite Margate station. It was erected in 1899 and is made of bronze. It commemorates the sinking of the vessel 'Friends to All Nations' in 1897.
