Beautiful house in Sevenoaks owned for hundreds of years by the Sackvilles - courtiers to the kings and queens of England. Now owned by National Trust, the site is also home to a deer park - there are hundreds of them everywhere!
The house is full of national treasures including Stuart furniture and a zillion portraits by Van Dyke. Gainsborough, Reynolds etc. No photography is permitted inside of course.
Check the website for all the opening times, ticket prices etc (free to members). Car parking is £2.50 for non-members but you could just come and walk the grounds and have a picnic if you didn't want to see inside the house.

Fondest memory: I can`t really remember much about Sevenoaks except for playing in the large field at the bottom of my Aunties garden. Also the airplanes, Sevenoaks is under the flightpath for the London airports.
