 | Blackpool Restaurants | Tips 1 - 10 of 33 | | Not a restuarant but a good tip anyway. Choose a busy fish and chip shop because if its busy it would seem to be a good one. Make sure you get a plastic fork and ask for the chips to be "eaten now". Find a bench or the sea wall and sit and enjoy you dinner, supper, or lunch from the paper its wrapped in. emmmmmmmmmm yummy. We walked into the restaurant which had a nice clean lines that gave an air of understated elegance. The table was beautifully presented with chopsticks at each place setting which rested on tiny ceramic fish. The napkins were intricately folded as well. A most pleasant environment to say the least. Until...................a large group of 20 something's all tarted up for a night on the town, burst through the doors and in a matter of seconds with their loud voices and exuberance turned a nice quiet meal into an eye rolling, suppressed giggles kind of meal. This gave Kit Kat a lot of new material to work with. The one most glaring thing was to hear one of the members of the party exclaim to a young man from Minnesota, US in her best imitation of a "Valley girl." "Oh wow, like you are from the US?" Now the funny thing here is that Minnesota is nowhere near the San Fernando Valley where I grew up and coupled with her Blackpool accent it was nearly virtually impossible for me to keep a straight face. But decency prevailed on my part and I kept my "Valley Girl" to myself. So if you are ever in Blackpool try this restaurant, who knows maybe the girls will be there again for another celebration!
We had a feast of dishes ranging from sweet and sour pork to prawns and soft noodles. All the food was quite decent but what I liked best was the sweet and sour pork was not drenched in sauce rather it was served on the side to allow the diner to control how much sauce you needed. It struck me odd though, in a country where tea is the national beverage (or so it seems) we never were offered the pot of green tea that usually accompanies every Chinese meal in the US. I havent got a favourite restaurant in Blackpool. I just wanted to add that in Blackpool there are hundreds of cafes/restaurants/takeaways to suit every taste. You cant beat walking down the prom eating fish and chips with loads of salt and vinegar and are wrapped in paper! Yummy :) Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Well there are many lovely places that serve delicious food. However I think Blackpool really has to be famous for it's fish & chips. There is always one local. If you prefer something of a higher standard then there is Highcross which is in Poulton but it's a fabulous drive there and they have a wide range of food. The best thing is they have so many different places you can have Chinese, Indian, Chippy and all on the same road!
The menu is simply fish and chips and in Blackpool is the worlds famous Harry Ramsdon which is worth a try! Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: They really are everywhere. Harry Ramsdon is in Blackpool town and is by the sea. Highcross is on the outskirts of Poulton. There are places everywher

Seafood Bars (not the name, the type) As you walk along the promenade you will encounter many different stalls selling fresh seafood like mussles, cockles, whelks and other such items. You have to try some, I had a small container of cockles which I'd had before and knew I liked. You can add vinegar or another topping to them if they are provided. This type of snack will only cost about £1 to £1.50 Leave a Comment Theme: OtherAddress: All along the seafront

Although slightly more expensive than normal fish and chip shops Harry Ramsdens is well worth the extra cost, although sometimes you have to queue for a table.
What trip to the English seaside would be complete without the traditional meal of Fish, Chips, Mushy Peas and Bread & Butter, wash down with a cup of tea.
