Hours of fun can be had on Blackpool beach. Granted, it's not the cleanest of beaches, but it's not hazardous health! My 3 years old Godson played for hours and he loved it!
You can play in the sand, the sea, hunt for shells or pebbles, enjoy the weather and enjoy the view.
We had a great time finding baby crabs (not alive) that had been washed up as the tide went out.
Remember your suncream/block, even if it's windy!
It might not be the riviera but visitors still love to hire a deck chair and sit on the sands. There are even those who venture out to have a paddle, and of course the children love making sandcastles and having a ride on the donkeys. Behind the beach is the promenade called the Golden Mile. Along here you will find many cafes, pubs, souvenir shops, slot machine arcades, discoes, hotels and bed and breakfast accommodations.
The tide has great amplitude making a great difference from low to high tides. We saw some fun in the sand, during low tides, but no one approaching the water, dark and with bad look. Yes, I know that it was the beginning of June, but... I really don't know if it is is suitable to bath or not, and if so, during what period.
It's good for our eyes, but... maybe not to the skin.
It's always nice to be at the beach. The sounds of the waves and the fresh air...what else do you need to be happy?
