Right in the middle of Blackpool you will find Stanley Park.

This is a place were I love to go when I want to get away from it all. It is relaxing, friendly and beautiful. You can spend a good couple of hours just walking around this park. There are also a number of activities which you can entertain yourself with when you've done walking!! In the middle of the park is a large boating lake with pedaloes, rowing boats and motor boats; you can play crazy golf or tennis; there is a skating area and a kids play area as well as a number of large open spaces where you can have a kick-around or just laze in the sun. The kids can be kept occupied for ages with a tub of. squirrel nuts - the squirrels on the park are pretty tame and will quite often take nuts from your hands.

Throughout the summer there is a variety of entertainment in the park from motor shows and dog shows to music from the bandstand by the lake.

If you were thinking of visiting here for a day out I would definitely recommend taking a picnic. There is a cafe on the park but it is VERY expensive (it is also very nice so if you wanted to really treat yourself....). As well as the cafe there are also a number of places around the park where you can buy ice-creams and soft drinks.

The park is also across the road from Blackpool Zoo.

Why not slip away from the hustle and bustle of the major attractions and enjoy the tranquillity of Stanley Park. The 256 acre park is situated less than two miles from the seafront and includes a 26 acre lake, which is the perfect setting for a quiet paddle on the freely available boats. There are six superb bowling greens, two 18 hole putting greens and numerous tennis courts. ( well, for tennis you have to pay around 2.30 per person) I do like this place. Thats a big relief from busy town center. On summer time they have life music there. Nice realxing place.
