Just down the road from Pontins is Star Gate Tram stop. It costs £1.20 for one way on the trams; the conductor on board takes payment. Stops include The Pleasure beach, Fleetwood and the Tower.

Built in since 1885, there is 12 miles of tramlines in Blackpool & Fleetwood. 65 trams in service over the summer months, running every day of the year except Christmas Day (the drivers like their presents too!). The line stretches from Starr Gate right through the neighbouring resort of Cleveleys, to Fleetwood. Visitors often jump onto a tram for a Promenade trip between the piers. Throughout the Illuminations you can even ride on variety of tailored feature trams such as the Space Rocket & Wild West Train.

    Horse and Cart

    by DUNK67 Written Aug 26, 2004

Why not get a tour of the promenade in a horse and cart, you can make it either a romantic trip for two or a family affair. During the season it is a great although expensive way of seeing the illuminations.

    RYAN AIR?

This is not a real transport tip, but I had to take the picture. If you look closely on the side of the plane you will spot a famous name of an airline company. I thought it quite amusing!

Ride on a tram, these are some of the only ones still running in the UK. Just jump aboard and then pay the driver or conductor.
