    Oslinc: Ostrich Meat (it's healthy!)

    OSTRICH BURGERS!!!

Oslinc is an ostrich meat farm that also offers ostrich burgers to the public from time to time at farmers markets and other such street stall events. For £2.20 you can get a delicious ostrich burger or for 20pence extra, one with cheese. Ostrich meat tastes very much like beef but has less fat than chicken or turkey (roughly 1.2% fat rather than up to 9.7% for pork) and cooks in much less time.

You can buy fresh ostrich meat at the markets as well; mince, roasts, burgers, sausages, even fresh ostrich eggs (weighing from 1-2 kilograms)!

Favorite Dish: I have only tried the ostrich burger, which is delicious!

    many places to eat....

One of the most important things when on holiday is delicious food, atmospheric dining and a good glass of wine or a pint of beer. Whether it is morning or afternoon tea at a unique tearoom, lunch at a local pub or fine dining, you can find it all in Lincolnshire.

A real treat is tasting local produce, so look out for the ?Tastes of Lincolnshire? sign and you will not be disappointed, at least three items on the menu will have been cooked with local produce.

    KIND: Might be good...................

    KIND

Sortof a bar/coffeehouse. Quite new, I think. Squashy leather sofas, newspapers (The Daily Mail????). 50 pence extra gets you unlimited refills of coffee. Huge toasted sandwiches, hone-made coleslaw..............in fact, everything is supposed to be home-made. The chips certainly were though, sadly, over-cooked and somewhat tepid. Perhaps they'll be better when they've been going for a while? They do a range of meals/sandwiches/jacket potatoes etc.

The first place I ate in lincoln, and I've been back numerous times, I took my wife there on our 1st date.. the food has been consistently good for 10+ years.. I asked the scotish guy who owns it how he keeps standards high once, he says that he's always had the same chef....

the vegitarian menu is sorta limited, but what they do they do very well, the 4 cheese pies v.rich, but calorific geogeous..

oh yeh, for all you johnny foreigners (from peterborough), its a stones throw from the cathedral, so its an easy addition to your itinery.

    regards,
    the lincoln imp.

Zuchinis: Don't miss out on the lunchtime buffet

by sourbugger Updated Mar 22, 2005

    Singular

Don't miss out on the Buffet

In an abundance or warm oranges wood and wine bottles, this mid-range Italian is often busy.

The availability of the lunchtime buffet for five-quid soon fills up the seats. The buffet itself always has salad, pizza three of four pasta dishes and a couple of meat ones.

a la Carte meals are still a reasonable price, with a good selection of authentic Italian dishes on offer, many from the native Naples of the owners.

On the downside I notice that Jeffrey Archer was noted for dining here, with his Jailers whilst on day release from Prison !

I was more than happy to sit in front of the big windows looking out onto Silver street and watch the world go by as mum and dad tucked into mountains of grub.

Favorite Dish: Danish Pastry and cup of Earl Grey tea
My husband loves the coffee and Baggettes. All freshly made
