Lincoln Tourist Traps

There are a lot of small restaurants and cafes lining Steep Hill and most of them have special offers advertised in the window to lure tourists in. Make sure you confirm the exact details of the offers before you order anything. One cafe was prominently advertising £2.70 for Coffee and Walnut Cake as its headline offer. So, I ordered a coffee and a slice of walnut cake and was slightly perplexed when the bill came to more than £4. It transpires that in actual fact it was for a cup of coffee and a slice of coffee and walnut cake!

One of the tips I have made is about the Christmas Market. Although this is a great occasion you may have problems getting around. Because of its popularity it gets very busy and you may find you are shuffling from one stall to another, sometimes not being able to get to look at the goods on sale.

Unique Suggestions: If you are going there, try and park away from the city centre, or take a coach tour. If you are staying overnight book early. The other thing of course to beware of is pick pockets!
