The sea wall, it is said, is like a band across a great chest stopping the sea’s expansion: when the sea breathes out, the concrete and stone restricts its breath and swell. Really, you can’t stop a flood, only exert pressure against the inevitable force. The walls can often make matters worse because although ‘protecting’ areas from flooding, they also prevent these areas close to the shore from functioning as they should – as flood planes. This can sometimes increase rather than decrease the risk and our vulnerability to flooding. But I actually like our sea wall because it’s built in steps and on the lower ones you can find colonies of seaweed which I think might otherwise be homeless.
Accidents on A-roads in Lincolnshire

Most of Lincolnshire's A-roads are single lane affairs but dead straight. Especially in the fenland areas (South Lincolnshire) you can often see for miles ahead. Unless you are used to driving like this take care - it is not unusual to see the results of a head on crash.It's the lack of defintion in the scenery that makes judging distances so difficult.
Jetties on the shoreline

There are jetties along the beach.. Be careful when the tide is up, because sometimes they are covered by the water. Oh, and you can switch on the light at the end if it’s dark.
