- Budget Travel
Merseyrail provide Hoylake with a 15 minute weekday servcice and a 30 minute off peak service on the Liverpool to West Kirby line. The electric trains are fast and efficient and easy to use. Beware though that they are the only trains in the north of England to work on the the third rail system and the rail you see along side the inner or outer rail is live and lethal if stood on.
Change at Hamilton Square for the Mersey ferry and trains to Chester and Ellesmere Port.
We bought day passes for inclusive bus, rail and ferry travel which were excellent value at £4.30 each. Simply rub off the day and date of travel ( see photo).
