4 VTers on one bench :) Thanks for the pic, Sandy!

Fondest memory: I spent wonderful days around here with VT friends :)

Steve and Susan had booked us into "Hotel Sandy" for a night so that I could see Liverpool finally. The brought me there, we met up with Sandy and Dave in the afternoon and they showed us around, took us home, bought us dinner and gave us a wonderful place to stay.

Thank you everybody! You made me realise once again how great VT tourism is :)

    Airport Car Parks

Favorite thing: John Lennon Airport Car Parks are generally a rip-off. Most quote the same HIGH price.

I found liverpoolparkandfly.com and it cost me half the price. It is run by a guy called Mike and he even picked me up when I came back at 3:30 am! They even do Bed & Breakfast on their farm now.
    Superb!

    Meet local VT'ers!

Fondest memory: Fondest memory is definitely meeting up with VT'er Sandysmith and her hubby Dave and spending 4 days with them both at their home in the Wirral and in Wales. It was great getting to know them and they were wonderful enough to treat me to a stay in a beautiful country house hotel on a two day trip to Wales. We had lots of fun exploring the area and then climbed Mt Snowdon on Sandy's 40th birthday, that was quite an experience in itself. The climb, not Sandy's birthday! lol!
This pic is of Sandy and I peering down from the town wall in Conwy, Wales.
Cheers Sandy, you're a marvelous hostess!

Fondest memory: When i used to work here, i used to do quite a lot of overtimes. And between 8-9 i used to go out at the balcony and see the sunset when the weather was good. Liverpool has a beautiful sky. Reflections of Birkenhead on the waters of Mersey, clear blue sky and little clouds coloured in red, purple and grey. It's magnificent!

Unfortunately I never remembered to bring my camera to the office so that I can show you this view.

Favorite thing: Walk thru the city centre. Pierside (on the River Mersey) there is a riverside walk visitors can take. It takes you thru the essentials of the city. Grab a ferry if you can. Why? you'll see some amazing perspectives of Liverpool's imposing architecture.

    Fondest memory: That Scouser accent

    The liver birds

Favorite thing: liverpool is now becoming the no 1 destination for tourists due to the total re-generation that has seen more bars, clubs, and restaurants open, making it the party capital of the u.k. you must visit the beatles museum, mathew street(where it all began at the cavern), the football stadiums. the albert dock, and our two famous cathedrals. eating out in liverpool is very good value also. visit the shangri la, and the mayflower chinese restaurants. come to liverpool and your guaranteed a good time. We have recently been bestowed the honour of CAPITAL OF CULTURE 2008, and the city although great at present is rapidly gearing up for that historic date in the citys history. Get here and see what all the fuss is about.

Fondest memory: The river mersey ferries, the humour and the people.

Favorite thing: Go to Speke Hall. It's a massive Tudor house that is now a sight seer's house of delights. Visit the ladies room where they read and drank tea, and the gentlemans gaming room. See the haunted bedroom where the lady of the house threw her baby out of the window. Also hear the tale of The Child of Hale (reputed to be over 7 foot tall). You can even take a packed lunch and sit in the lovely grounds once you have seen the house, or have a cup of tea in the Tea Shop.
If you want a purely lazy day, go to Calderstones Park. It's very relaxing just walking around the massive pond, feeding the ducks, visiting the gardens, or just sitting on the grass with an ice cream.

    A cute building in Chester

Favorite thing: We also visited Chester on our way from Liverpool while heading down to London. Chester is a cute town not too far from Liverpool...just across the water really... It is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area...

    Chester

Favorite thing: We really loved wandering around the streets in Chester. There are heaps of cute little shops and we did a lot of window shopping there.

Because it was mid November the streets were covered in Christmas decorations too... :)
