Favorite thing: The Marine Way Bridge has become quite a landmark on the Southport skyline and makes for a scenic view as the sun is setting - for some anyway ;-)

Favorite thing: Just a few facts about this modern bridge:-
It spans 120m and is made of 18,000 tonnes of concrete. The anchor block at top of pylon weighs 60 tonnes and there are 31 miles of cables!

Favorite thing: Southport has all the traditions (or trappings?) of an elegant Victorian seaside town. Its pier, funfair attractions and of course fish and chips, candy floss and rock shops.
