The zoo in Southport was closed in 2004 - so don't go! Its owners had been convicted of keeping a number of endangered birds and animals without a proper licence. Its seems that animals were kept in horrible conditions and the noise from the nearby Pleasureland fun park was not agreeable with the animals - would you like roller coasters thundering past your head every few minutes?
Thankfully a capaign by vets and experts saw the closure of the zoo.

Just by the beginning of the pier is a place advertising a free hall of mirrors.
Well there are a few mirrors that reflect you in all shapes and sizes but its just a lure into the Bingo Hall!
Unique Suggestions: Have a quick pop in and have a giggle at the "new you" . At least this was the slimmest I'd seen myself in years!!

Every seaside town (well almost) has them. Slot machines! This one clearly says 'adults only'. These were near to the entrance to the pier.
