by Gili_S Everyone knows about the pubs, I am not sure if its really matter where you go to, but always the local pub have that same atmosphere, good beer and the steak and kidney pie. It's like you never really been to the England if you haven't visited the local pub. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Ye olde trip to Jerusalem by sourbugger From Sourbugger's Nottingham page : This pub quite boldly claims to be the oldest boozer in Britain. There are other claimants, but it cannot be denied that people have been getting quitely (or loudly) pissed in this place for hundreds of years before the Black Plague or the discovery of America. The date painted on the walls, that of 1189 A.D, is pretty much a guess - but it is the year of the ascension to the throne of King Richard the First, (the Lionheart). One of Richard's first acts as the new King was to answer the call to crusade against the Saracens who occupied the Holy Land of Christian religion. Since the castle above the inn was a royal stronghold, favoured by the King, the knights and men at arms who answered his call came to the castle, and before their journey to the channel ports, they stopped off for plenty of Dutch Courage at the Inn. The Inn therefore has a great sense of history, and you shouldn't miss the rooms that are carved back into the bedrock. The food and drink are nothing special, but this place has to be a 'must see' on any visit to Nottingham Leave a Comment

I believe that this nightclub/danceclub is the finest I have ever experienced. I highly recommend it. The club is open Thursday through Saturday from 9 PM to 3 AM and Sunday from 7 PM to 1 AM. There is a cover charge. The staff is wonderful and there is adequate security for peace of mind. There are also VIP areas and reasonable requests can be considered. This is an age 18 & over nightclub that has 4 stories, 6 dance floors, over 1,500 person capacity, special drink prices, bars on all 4 floors, and music that is both trendy & right for the venue. There are pole dance & cage podiums, a huge sound system that runs throughout the venue, dazzling light and laser shows, just about every imaginable drink. The DJ's keep everything pumped up & there is even a photo gallery that highlights the evening activities. I can't imagine any club that could provide more. I only wish I would have taken photographs.
Costumes are permitted and encouraged on various nights but this is a definitely a club you will want to dress-to-impress however dress is listed as casual on most nights. A nice looking pub in York by sabsi Whereever you are in England there's always a nice pub to go to for dinner and a few drinks. Some of them are old and very traditional while some are modern (= the usual tacky video game machines etc). In all of them you get excellent English beers (there are so many different ones, I couldn't believe it) and in a lot of them you will get excellent and "affordable" pub food. I was really shocked when last orders were announced very early though (around 10:30 pm). I'm not used to early nights like that anymore, in Ireland most of the pubs I'd been to had late license.
It doesn't matter what you wear in most of the countryside pubs. In some nicer ones you might not get in with Sneakers or Jeans. Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: All over the country

Jewel is a newer nightclub in Piccadilly, near the underground station. The place is decked out with some of the most beautiful people in London. No cover charge for ladies, but will cost you 5 BSP for gents. There are three gorgeous bars, each unique in decor and ambiance. Be sure to check out the Ruby Room upstairs, done up Buddha Bar style with a rosy red-orange, candle lit glow and many dark corners...

Both places are near to each other in the city of Birmingham. They have a variety of different shows for all different tastes from young to old. E.g children shows featuring well known children characters, comedians my favourite is Jasper Carrot and lots of different concerts. Go for a walk in the middle of the night in the city. And end up walking along the river Thames. It's an experience not many people can share.
Walking shoes. And warm clothes, unles it's summer and there is a heatwave. Yes, even in London that happens. It doesn't always rain. Theme: OtherAddress: River ThamesDirections: River Thames and City.
