    Wrights Restaurant: Sunday Lunch

    by kevin36 Updated Jul 23, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

A bit of a mixed reaction for here?
The service was average nothing special,in fact you got the impression that they were not too botherd.
A shame as the ambience was nice ,good layout too.
Maybe we were just unlucky to get the one waitress that did not want to be there on that day.
Dont get me wrong it wasent bad! just not good either.

Favorite Dish: We had Roast beef Sunday Lunch with Jam roll and custard.
The roast was nothing special although again not bad just average, but then it wasent expensive, maybe we were expecting too much (I dont think so ).
The jam roll was very average to poor, a bit stodgy and the custard was watery.
I think along with the service we were a little dissapointed.
Would we try it again?,Yes i think so just to see if things have improved.

    The Captain Manby: Lovely Carvery

    by black-saturn Written Apr 22, 2008

Went there yesterday and had a really lovely carvery. It's only £5 on a weekday for a carvery and £1 for a pudding. There's also other meals on the menu.

    Merrivale Tea Rooms: Morning Tea

by vichatherly Updated Oct 9, 2014

We had a lovely morning coffee and scone at this fine seaside team room.

We had spotted the cakes from our previous days visit to the attached model village, but as we were on our way out for some fish and chips at the time we thought we'd best leave the cakes.

You can pop into the tea rooms without having to pay to go into the model village, and this gives you access to the vintage penny arcade aswell as the model village shop.

There are old style penny rides outside and the Postman Pat van was a big hit with our three year old.

An excellent spot, near the beach, for an early tea before heading back to the caravan site.
