Update: The library have got their act together now, and we have been several since. They do the best (reasonably priced) sunday lunch in norwich. the library has just opened in, surprise surprise, the old library. They have spent a lot of money converting it, and I hope its a success. We went the first sunday it was open for lunch. The lunch was ok, but not amazing, and they had a problem with the wood burners which I believe is now sorted. Their problem is they are set well off the road and dont seem sure if they are a restaurant or a bar. I think they would do better if they were more restaurant and less bar.

You see this chain all up and down the UK motorways, easily recognisable by the red buildings and white Little Chef sign. Bacon burger meal , chicken salad £3.99 and coke £1.99 dunno how they calculate the discount value, but with the 20% off vouchers from Travelodge it all came to £7.84.... not bad I suppose. Filled your tummy and that's about it.
It's burger food, what can you say.... try choosing the healthy salad option though, the dressing wasn't bad Leave a Comment

This is a burger place next to the new Chaplefield shopping centre. I had a tasteless burger (I dread to think what it was made from). The chips were greasy. A real let-down. Go to Wagamama's which is next door instead. Tootsie's is a disgrace, I felt throughly ripped off when I Ieft. The food was inedible. Don't go to this place it will spoil your day! by TonyBagnall These are our thai rankings for norwich 1. Lam Thai (see below) 2. Thai Lanna: By cinema city, its as expensive as Lam Thai and food is very good. Space not as good as Lam Thai and portions smaller. 3. Sugar Hut: Near the castle, the sugar hut is nice and in same price bracket as above two and not quite as good. 4. One on Magdalen St (closed at the moment). Was pretty good when open, although decor 5. Siam bangkok: not bad, currently closed 6. One on the boat by the train station. Its on a boat! Only been once for lunch, was fine. 7. One on Prince Wales: super cheap fast food thai style. Much more like restaurants/bars in thailand actually. They do lots of deals. Food is ok, but you get what you pay for 8. Sweet Chili: Cheaper, food seems a bit anglisised. Very small (more seats upstairs?) Lam Thai is the best thai restaurant I've eaten in outside of thailand. The dishes are carefully prepared with excellent ingredience. The service is great. Its more expensive than average, but worth it. There is a bar out the back which most people dont seem to know about. You can go and have a drink, sit in comfy sofas and listen to cheesy thai pop, then they call you when your food is ready.
standards are great, especially the green curry, but my favorites are the mussaman (sp?) and the spicy salad. Leave a Comment

Hen night by cheekymarieh The restaurant has a Mediterranean feel to it with thetable being candle lit. It seems to be a very popular place and booking is advisable.
When we arrived we were served with some little starters including spicy potatoes, a delicious chilli chutney and some olives (the latter I gave a miss!) along with some fresh bread. I had Marrakech chiken served with couscous and it was cooked to perfection. I would certainly have the same dish again. There is also a good selection of dishes on the menu and vegitarians are catered for. The wine list is also worth a look. by TonyBagnall Our favorite curry house in Norwich is the Spice Lounge (near cathedral opposite Maids Head hotel). If you go you will understand why we call it a disco curry, the deco is a bit ott in classic tacky indian style (actually think they are bangladeshi)!. The food is a cut above the standard, its not very spicy though. Service is very good, place is clean and shiny. Its usually very busy, you often actually have to book. Portions are very large
I like the Chicken Vindaloo and the Lamb rogan josh Leave a Comment Theme: IndianPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: Wensum StreetDirections: Near the cathedral, opposite Maids head hotel.

Inside the cafe by TonyBagnall EDIT: Oh no, the treehouse has closed down! We are most upset, a great Norwich place that has been open for 20 years has gone :( This is a great vegetarian cafe with excellent wholesome food and a menu that changes every day. Nice, friendly staff. Go for a snack size meal (costs about £6) because the main meal size (£8) is a portion big enough for a giant. Whatever size you go for there will be so many interesting flavours on your plate that your taste buds will be very happy indeed. Even if you are a meat eater like me go to this place with an open mind and you will not be disappointed. This is more of a lunch venue than somewhere for the evening (though they do open sometimes in the evenings). The cafe is run by a workers co-operative. Please note that the Treehouse is sadly no more - it has closed down :(
Everything I've had has been great and I've been quite a lot! This is hearty veggie and vegan food, not any of your nanby-panby goats cheese and rocket that seems to be served everwhere these days. You will leave feeling well fed and virtuously healthy. Although if you fancy being naughty they also serve organic cider, beer and wine. Hungry and tired and in need of a drink we came in here. I felt very scruffy as the place was full of trendy made up young people. We were able to get a table fairly quickly and had a drink while looking at the menu. Food was good and the service very swift and friendly. The placed was packed by 9pm with every table filled to capacity. Norwich is certainly a trendy place to be after dark!
Chris had the seafood starter and I had the chicken skewers. For main course we all had the steak which was cooked to perfection. Desserts was sticky toffee pudding for me :), cheesecake for my sister and Chris had the chocolate brownie. We were all really pleased with our choices. After a morning of meetings and some shopping - I called into Tootsies for a late lunch. It was about 14.00 when I started to order. The restauarant is over two floors and it has a good atmosphere and the staff are very professional and welcoming. The other customers were also very pelasant and all in all the atrmosphere was great!
I had an excellent BBQ Burger and fries. Leave a Comment
