Favorite thing: The open fields behind my home give me views of March in the far distance, March is a small market town
it is actually in a diferent county to Upwell, we are Norfolk, March is Cambridgeshire
So l took this sunset picture in March [the month] looking towards March [the town] which makes me smile, l am easily amused
as the summer has gone through Autumn, Winter and is now Spring l have watched `my` sun set at a different point on the horizon each night, moving first to the left and now coming back to the right

Favorite thing: There can be no argument - the Fenlands are VERY flat, we have no hills but plenty of sky and acres of arable land criss crossed by dykes and rivers engineered straight
The little dyke behind my home was once the Croft River, the previous owner can remember the barges coming along it, now its a mere trickle when the rain has been heavy, though no so low that it doesnt cause havoc with my antiquated drainage, however as Upwell now has main sewers this wont be a problem once we are connected though the cess pit seems to work quite well during fine weather

Favorite thing: Fenland soil is very fertile, we are surrounded by fields and orchards.
There is a farm shop on every road, one close to me grows and sells 50 varieties of apples along with other fruits and vegetables
Of course this isnt a major tourist draw, but its an important part of the regional culture and economy

Favorite thing: Cutting through the village and crossed by bridges is Well Creek, our part of the Ouse - Nene navigational link, if you come along here by boat you will see well tended landing stages and pretty gardens among banks covered in high grass
Several residents have boats `parked` along the river, including a beautiful narrowboat
Along the river are houses of what seems to be every possible style of architecture, mostly well cared for
Fondest memory: Coming home is a delight, the trees, the river and the houses create a pretty scene and lift my heart, as l know that soon l will reach my pretty cottage
