It may be because its Spring, but we have two new shops in the village
a small antique ashop has opened near to the Spar grocery shop, there is no sign above the shop, just a board on the pavement outside, l hope the people who go along the river in barges can see it or all the passing trade will pass by !
around the corner is `Millies Pantry` the place to stop at for cofee and cakes, a quick peek through the window gave sightings of dried flower displays, hand made greeting cards and Beanie Babies too, this is deinately a tea room with possibilities
Living in a small village is a great way to save money, there are no shops to tempt me inside !
We have a few shops - a small grocers / newsagent / of license, two butchers and lots of farm shops selling fresh produce
There is an antique and pine furniture store which l havent visited yet [ l cant fit anything else into my tiny cottage ] and the Post Office sells greeting cards, stationery and nick nacks [ but l dont have room for any more of those either ! ]
there is strangely enough a bridal shop, perhaps people marry a lot here ! but l shallnt find any use for it, unless camcorderman gets eaten by a crocodile when we visit Australia, and Mel Gibson proposes
l found out yesterday that we have a small market each week in the village hall, so l`ll check it out next Thursday
What to buy: the few shops we do have are nice to visit, they are great places to chat and pick up snippets of local news and gossip !
