Yorkshirefolk are crazy about racing and there are several races throughout the county regularly. The most famous racecourse is York, which has days when ladies bring their best hats and so on. There are also smaller courses in Thirsk, Catterick (Richmond) and Ripon and many well-known trainers have their stables in Middleham and Malton so that's where to go if you're looking for a job as a groom.
