If your going to be camping near Malham you need to be aware that there is no food shop in the Village, the nearest ones are about 15 minute away by car,
We went to settle to do our shopping for BBQ food and drinks and kept them cold by putting them in a bag and then in the stream which was ice cold.

    NO PICNICKING.........!!!

We were somewhat taken aback by a sign we couldn't help noticing, just as we entered the walk to Malham Cove. NO PICNICKING!! My goodness, I'm glad we hadn't gone to the trouble to pack a picnic! What next? I thought we might have been told to walk in single file, not walk on the grass, no ball games allowed etc. etc. I presume the idea was that no litter would be left lying around but come on. How many other beauty spots have you been to and had a similar warning? I can't think of any.
