Bus Travel to/from Robin Hoods Bay

    Whitby,near Robin Hoods Bay

There is a regular (almost hourly) bus service from Whitby and Scarborough to Robin Hoods Bay

No 93 Arriva bus travels from Middlesborough to Scarborough. Some buses connect with the trains at Middlesborough, Whitby and Scarborough.

The first bus leaves Whitby bus station at 0630, arriving RHB at 0649 and Scarborough at 0730.
The last bus from RHB is at 23 41(Having left Scarborough at 2305) arriving in Whitby at 2400hrs.
I've just got this info from the Arriva website, where there is loads of useful info about their bus/train services/timetables etc.

Please check with the bus company about times etc, as they may be subject to change, and please don't hold me responsible if you miss the last bus from RHB!!

    Taxxiiiiii !!!!!!!

Bay Private Hire offers a taxi service night and day.

Looking at their advert, they appear to also offer a 6 seater mini bus and a Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Mk 11!!!!

    Walking around Robin Hoods Bay

    Robin Hoods Bay

Whether you've arrived by bus or car, the only way to get around Robin Hoods Bay is on foot (or bike)

Pay and Display carpark at the top of the village, and near the old station.( follow blue parking signs)

There is limited access to hol accom, for loading/unloading. but little if any parking places, just enough for the local residents/traders etc.

A notice near the car park displays details re access to the village.

Walking gives you the chance to explore the 'nooks and crannies 'of this fascinating seaside village, and its cliff top paths etc.

    Bus it!

If you don't have a car, the Whitby to Scarborough bus a few times a day is your best bet. You get off at the top of the hill and is rewarded by this view before you walk down towards the town centre.

    Not car-friendly!

    by Rachael71 Written Jul 19, 2004

Although cars are not banned from Robin Hood's Bay, it is not the easiest of places to drive in due to its very steep and narrow roads. It is best to park your car in the car park at the top of the village and walk in, it's not far.

The hill down into the village is very steep, and people with mobility problems may find it difficult.
