SCARBOROUGH OR WHITBY?

by DOUGALSMUM

When in North Yorks (particularly if staying at Keldy cabins-see my accomodation tip), you are never far from the coast. However there are seaside resorts-and there are seaside resorts. If you like the loud brash kiss-me-quick type of resort littered with tacky shops, then by all means visit scarborough, but if you like your seaside resort clean with alovely beach, fascinating town centre (complete with dracula museum-dracula"s author was supposed to be inspired by the ruins of whitby castle overlooking whitby harbour), and generally how the seaside used to be, then take my word for it -dont bother with scarboro" Whitby is the place to go. If you have to go to Scarboro", my tip for making it more bearable is:- to carry on the road up to Whitby! There is ONE reason to go to scarborough, and that is to visit the EXCELLENT sea-life sanctuary (north bay) a great place to visit. see above
