Favorite thing:
I had somewhat become used to all the Grey Squirrels in the UK, but I never saw so many as in Castle Gardens in York. When I walked around there, I saw an abundance of them, especially in the evenings. And they were not shy at all. There were some scurrying away when I came along, but most of them just stayed where they were, nibbling something or searching for food. They were not bothered by the people walking through the garden at all, although it was quite crowded.
I know that probably this is not so good, as it can't be good for the ecological balance if there are so many of these squirrels - but I still enjoy seeing them, as they are just so cute! And if you like photographing animals, you will certainly get some good shots here!
Favorite thing:
10 acres of beautiful gardens in the centre of York, it's a nice place for walking or having a picnic.
It's a big park with flowers, trees and lawns. It also contains The Yorkshire Museum, and the ruins of St. Mary's Abbey.
There is an entrance near Lendal Bridge
Favorite thing: One of the many abbey and castle ruins, in and around York. I unfortunately do not know the name of this site, but absolutely loved exploring and photographing it. What a feeling! The next three photos are of this area too.
Favorite thing:
take a look around the Museum Gardens. You get into them either from Lendal Bridge or from the river front upstream of Lendal Bridge.
The gardens are quiet extensive, with large grassy areas, formal gardens and many shady trees. It's a great place to picnic and chill out for while.
The gardens also contain The Yorkshire Museum, and a host of other fine buildings, including the ruins of St. Mary's Abbey, The Multangular Tower and The Hospitium Museum.
Favorite thing:
At least I think so. maybe I should refresh my knowledge about York.
anyway it's in a big park in the centre of York, which is really nice. People go there for walks on sundays.
Favorite thing:
Finding Old fine buildings to see and visit. Well I enjoyed it.
Fondest memory:
I just loved all the old buildings in York.
Turn a corner and you could find a building like this.
