I really enjoyed seeing Clifford's Tower and taking a photo of it. I never climbed up it or paid to stand inside it.

Well what is left of the old castle.
Entry (by English Heritage) is £3 for adults. I didn't pay, just walked to the top to see what views you can see, they're not that great!

    Cliiford's Tower

Clifford's Tower was once the main stronghold of York Castle.

It was built by William the Conqueror.

Its worth climbing the stairs as it gives you panoramic views across the city.

A sight to behold, history is tangible at Clifford's Tower. The tour guide on the sight seeing bus will tell you the story, and you can also go inside and up if you'd like.

Don't miss Clifford's Tower, one of the main sights in York. It was built in 1245-1262 as the keep of York Castle and became a military stronghold until the end of the 17th century.
