    Swaledale Woollens: Hand knitted sweaters

by Sjalen Updated Sep 1, 2006

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Swaledale Woollens is a place where your average knitted sweater or cardigan costs quite a bit more than at Poundstretcher. To justify this, you get little tags on each garment, telling you who actually knitted it and what yarn she used! It could say something like "Mrs Robinson of Richmond knitted this of murano wool" for instance. Not that all the wool is local - a lot of it came from Wales - but it is often made locally and wherever it comes from, it is of good quality. They also sell flat hats and some other things and are very proud to have been visited by Prince Charles once :)))

What to buy: A flat hat is very Yorkshire of course.
