Wellingborough Restaurants

  • Chinese Wonder

Nice modern chinese restaurant, good space between tables so you dont feel like your sitting with another party. Staff were very polite and helpful, when I asked for recomendations they didnt say the most expensive dish which was nice. A good menu is on offer, I had the duck pancakes which were fantastic, and beware the beef in peppercorn sauce...

  • My favourite restaurant is the...

My favourite restaurant is the Dog and Duck Inn.The prices in the restaurant are good with a 3-course meal for two costing around £24 (excluding drinks). The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice (a really cosy feeling). The layout of the restaurant is also good as the tables are not too close together and the restaurant is on different levels. The...

  • Bush-Wackers

Bushwackers is the new nightlife spot to open in wellingborough, and all sorts of speculation was held about what it was any good or not. Well on opening night, it was a cheesy disco area, with peoples ages ranging from 30 to maybe 60..... not my scene So far have not encountered a specific code, although i wouldnt imagine they would let u in with...

Wellingborough Transportation

  • In Great Britain (England,...

In Great Britain (England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland) we drive on the left. All our road signs are in miles instead of kilometres and our speed limit is in mph (miles per hour). The best way to get around Wellingborough town centre is to walk. The town is not very big and most shops are within walking distance. There is a train...

  • Bus

Bus's in wellingborough and around it are quite regular going as often as every 15 minutes and are reasonably priced. Catch one from any bus stop, or from church street in the main town centre for the widest choice of destinations.

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Wellingborough farmers market is not the biggest market but it does have a good selection of produce from fresh fruit and vegetables, breads and cheeses, meats and pickles, and plants. The stall holders are friendly and their produce is good quality..

What to pay: Prices vary from stall to stall but fruit and veg are cheaper that the supermarkets, some are a bit more expensive but I dont mind paying a bit more for something that you cant get in the supermakets.

A Typical 7 Seater Black Wheelchair Hackney Cab

by depal Updated Dec 4, 2005

Vistors new and old - Hackney carraiges (the ones that you can flag down) are are either Yellow or Black. All prices are are meter based although you may ask the driver for a fixed fare, it will be up to him to agree a fare. Hackney carrages can be found waiting at the Railway station or the taxi rank on the Market Square near the Hind Hotel & Mcdonalds
95% of all the black cabs are wheelchair accessable and they should not charge extra for carrying one. All the cabs will show a white plate on the rear of the vehicle to show its properly licensed and the driver will wear a badge to show he is approved. Not all vehicles are sign written so dont panic.

For a journey with a fixed fare please ring and book a Private hire this way you can get a price quote first, again the driver should be wearing a badge and the plate on the rear of the vehicle should be yellow. Don't take excuses of either of these are missing dont get in and report to somebody if you feel that you are being harrased to get into a suspicious vehicle.
