Unknown: Like a Private Apartment, Haltwhistle

DEBBBEDB Says:  Eventually we ended up at a B&B in Haltwhistle where they had two rooms, and we had them both. It was like having your own private apartment. I've forgotten the name of itWe left the next morning after a fabulous breakfast

Youth Hostels along Hadrians Wall: Britains best kept Secret

Youth Hostels along Hadrians Wall: Britains best kept Secret, Haltwhistle

lucydog Says:  I would always recommend unreservedly the youth hostels across Britain as they all offer safe clean and very affordable rooms. Gone are the days when there were 50 to a dorm, now you can book a room in most hostels as long as you book in advance. If not the dorms are small...

While there are several places to eat in Haltwhistle and several pubs, my favourite has to be La Toot by the market place. Thie was the old Blacksmith shop until recently and is now run by a lovely lady who will really welcome you, be happy to chat and just give you advice on anything you want to see. It doesnt do meals as such, just a hot soup at lunch time and cakes throughout the day. All very good prices and super service.

Favorite Dish: mmmm rice crispy cake, Yummy!!
