Most of the best bars are around the Lace MArket and Hockley. I can reccomend:The Pitcher and Piano, Brass Monkey andSugar BarThe Pitcher and Piano is inside an old church so if your very religous then don't go there!

I haven't been out at night in Nottingham, as I was very young when I was last there. However Nottingham is a very exciting city, developing rapidly with a host of new bars, cafes and restaurants. Wherever you are in the city, there's places to go to suit all tastes. For more information no Nottingham nightlife, click here
This is a real alternative pub - lots of people go in here before going to Rock City. It plays metal music, soft rock, indie and alternative music, not for people who want to go to a smart pub or for the wine. casual - smart casual not appropriate
If you are a rock music fan then you have to visit Rock City. It has been going for ages and is a traditional rock club with alternative nights, metal nights and has two floors with different music on each. The great thing about being in the Midlands is it is cheaper than down south so you get complete value for money also! casual - jeans are acceptable here, I wouldnt advise trainers but they are probably ok.
Sounds like the type of place Robin Hood et al would have dined. This is Ye Olde Salvation Inn on Maid Marian Way.
One of the oldest pubs in England (allegedly serving alcohol on the site since 1189). On tap, you'll discover Hardy & Hanson's wonderful Kimberley ales. come as you are
