As you walk in you there is a warm buzzy feel to the place. It was busy and despite the fact that we hadn't booked a table we were soon seated. There is plenty of choice on the menu, our order was soon taken. Our starters and drinks arrived fairly quickly. after we finished our starters. We sat there and waited and waited. We stacked the plates up in the middle of the table (there were 5 of us) and waited. I actually took pictures of this and we still waited. We tried to get someones attention to order drinks and to find out about our food. We were told that it had been less than an hour that we had been waiting. We were told that a table of 17 had walked in and we would have to wait. They came in after we had ordered. We were also told that as we had ordered starters we have to wait longer for our main meals to arrive. The manager came over and knocked our drinks of the bill and said our food was just coming. Only the food was for another table. Our food arrived and I discovered that my Lamb Dansak had no chilli in it at all. I was offered a plate of chilli to put in it or to have a new dish made. So the dish of chilli was brought over and the same time my dish was taken away. So I was left with rice and a plate of chilli. Everybody else had their food, but most were lacking knife and forks that had not been replaced from our starters. I did get my dish back. When we got the bill we asked for a discount as we felt that the service and quality of dishes was not worth the full price. We were told that we had not been charged a service charge (which I had not seen stated on the menu). We said that we would not be tipping anyway. We were given a 20% discount. It was a shame, as far as I know this place has been open a couple of years and is michelin recommended. I am not sure that I would come back. My dish was brought back and
Seekh Kebab starter was very good. Lamb Dansak was missing the chilli! No heat to it at all. Price's for main dishes vary from £6-£15 Theme: IndianPrice: US$31-40 » Currency ConverterComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Maid Marion Way, Nottingham, NG1 6HEWebsite: www.milesfrom Delhi.com

I had breakfast there on a Sunday morning. It was quiet - I was the first customer of the day. The service was friendly and the food was good - fair portions at a reasonable price. I would certainly return - and I'm fussy! There was a problem with the coffee machine so I had juice instead - when they fixed the machine, they gave me a coffee free to make up for it. They even brought me over a newspaper to read as I alone.
Well cooked breakfast - choose 6 items from the menu for ý3.95. Leave a Comment Theme: AmericanPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: 29 Upper Parliament StreetPhone: 0115 979 9736Directions: A few paces from Victoria shopping centre.

I'm sorry, folks, but wearing ethnic costumes and having a reasonable decor does not a good restaurant make. I am a great curry afficionado, and the English Midlands is certainly a good place to enjoy the delights of Asian cooking. On the evening I visited, the service was poor, notwithstanding that the place was nearly empty. The food (when it eventually arrived) was really pretty average. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant. Perhaps, like anywhere else, they were just having an off night, but on this showing I am sure there must be better Indian restaurants in Nottingham. The guys that own and run this restaurant used to be responsible for the food and a wonderful pub called the Peacock at Redmile in the nearby Vale of Belvoir. They set up on their own and have never looked back. The ambience is terrific. Striped pine, candlelit, and the food and menu tasty, beautifully presented and above all consistantly good.
Filet steak wrapped in bacon and topped with grilled stilton. Wild mushrooms, in a delicate sauce topped with puff pastry. Yum! An independant Pizzeria serving pretty authentic Pizza (Thin crust and cooked really fast). Great for kids too as they get to see the guys throwing the pizza dough around and can even put their own toppings on the Pizzas Leave a Comment Theme: ItalianPrice: US$11-20 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: London Road Roundabout

Red Hot Buffet Shack offers a mix of indian, chinese and italian buffet food. Some of it is cooked to your specification (but it takes AGES to reach your table so don't bother) but there's plenty out in dishes. It's an all you can eat buffet and includes just about enough for both vegetarians and meat eaters. The ice cream and sweety area is fab!

Saltwater Restaurant, at the top of the Cornerhouse is a pleasant place to eat and drink on a summer evening. There is a terrace bar, with a nice atmosphere. The food is above average, with an emphasis on modern British cuisine. If you eat before 7pm, you can get 2 courses for £6.95 and you can also get a 50p discount on any pint of beer, which as they serve delicious draft Kronenbourg weiss beer, is the drink I favour when eating here.
The parma ham and cheese salad is a tasty starter. Leave a Comment

It's without doubt the best restaurant in Nottingham, and has the awards, including a Michelin star to prove it. The style is difficult to classify as it is so unique. It's expensive, but is actually better value for money than many chaeper restaurants
