Walking Back To The Train Station...

    A Good Sight in Oxford...

Fondest memory: This was my lasy photo in Oxford...
Passing this flowery building, could be a restaurant or pub.
So, I was in Oxford for about 2 hours & managed to accomplised a lot ! Judging from all the photos that you could see on this My Oxford Page !
No drink & no eating in Oxford...Well, maybe the previous night a KFC dinner with Pat !
I wish I could stay longer to explore Oxford.
Anyway, I had to continue with my journey; Had to reach back to London by 12 noon or so, to explore London with sweet friends, Reg & Steve...MY LONDON PAGE

Gate Tower of Brasenose College, Oxford

Fondest memory: Now, I took another photo.
This is The Gate Tower of Brasenose College, from 1512.
    Very nice looking indeed !
This view is from the High Street although you can see a better view of this college from Radcliffe Square, which is just behind the wall of the gate !

    St. Mary's Church, Oxford

Fondest memory: I continued on walking along High Street, coming to St. Mary Church again...Feeling good looking at the tower as an hour earlier, I was up the tower for some great views over Oxford !

    Old Cab in Oxford

Fondest memory: Saw this Cab ! How I longed to ride in it ! It must be very comfortable !
I didn't know that cabs in Oxford & also in London, still look old as this...
Thought I captured this photo to share with friends back home & now you can see it also.Though, my 'dream' to sit in this 'old' cab was granted when I arrived back from Keflavik Airport, Iceland at 3 AM ! Hence, had to take this 'old' cab back to my friend's place in London. You can't see the night cab that I took BUT you could see the photos that I took around 'Greater London' [please click] , sitting infront of this 'old' cab !

    High Street in Oxford

Fondest memory: These last few photos were taken by me as I was walking slowly, back to Oxford Train Station...
From The Bridge Of Sighs as the photo above, I took the long way route through Holywell Street & then Longwall Street, before I came to High Street.
Took the photo which you can see on the left...I could also see The Church of St. Mary's Tower !

    2 Pidgeons in Oxford

Fondest memory: While going down the winding small steps of St. Mary's Church, I caught a glimpse of these 2 pidgeons, 'hatching' their eggs !
I think they looked at me in bewilderment...especially the sudden flash from my cheap camera, maybe would make them dizzy for a few seconds.
I hope their eggs are okay though...

    St. Mary's Church Wall, Oxford

Fondest memory: There are 127 steps to go up the tower of St. Mary's Church.
From the top, we can see excellent views over the city of Oxford !
These are my photos, my own views from my camera, through my eyes to the top; on the tower & descending down...
Managed to snap this photo of the church wall.
Big window & some nice decorations (figures) at the top...
Some parts are new, some parts are old.

From the top, we can see excellent views over the city of Oxford !
These are my photos, my own views from my camera, through my eyes to the top; on the tower & descending down...
After my photo was taken, I descended down the steps; Not easy because it's winding & have small steps...
    Saw this woman (not a man...) who was pulling the rope to the bell;
I thought, " Oh ! Oh ! I have to get down fast or the bell would be ringing in my head forever !".
It's always when I'm up on any church tower, the bell would be ringing either I went up or coming down.

    Me, Li, Andreas & Charles

Fondest memory: This photo was taken in the Turf bar, and it was one of the last time the four of us (me, Li, Andreas & Charles) were together as a group. We had some great times! Mostly in the pubs and rarely in the library...

    Trinity v Oxford

Fondest memory: My first visit to Oxford was back in November '99 when Trinity came to play Oxford in a friendly tennis match. I think they beat us in every match, though we fared better than them in the drinking games and were still going strong long after they had gone home to sleep! Despite the fact - or maybe because - I saw more of the pubs and clubs of Oxford than anything else on that trip, the city really made a strong impression on me.

    Sabsi in Christ Church

Fondest memory: I had a great day showing Sabine (VT member Sabsi) around Oxford. Luckily the weather was quite nice, so we only needed to spend half the day in the pub. We also saw the angelic Magdalen choir singers, some punters on the river, and quite a few of the colleges.

    Martyr's Memorial, Oxford

    Favorite thing: Central places

Martyr's Memorial, along St. Giles, is a major meeting point, definitely more of a meaningful other than at McDonalds.
