Oxford is connected to London, the M25 and the Midlands by the M40 motorway. Junctions 8 and 9 link directly to the city. The Oxford ring road provides direct access to the south and west coast ports of Southampton, Portsmouth and Bristol via the A34..

    Park and Ride
Parking in the city centre is extremely limited and visitors to Oxford arriving by car are recommended to use the city's 'Park & Ride' service. Fast and frequent bus services link four car parks located adjacent to the ring road with the city centre, 7 days a week.
Contact Oxford Bus Company's 'Park & Ride' service for timetables and prices. Tel:01865 785400 for travel information Monday -- Friday 08.00-18.00, Saturday 08.00-15.30.
    .

The 'Park & Ride' car parks are: Peartree (to the north, off the A34), Thornhill (to the east, off the A40), Redbridge (to the south, off the A4142) and Seacourt (to the west, off the A34).

    Access
There are access restrictions to cars within the city centre, particularly for traffic coming into the centre from the east, along High Street.
If you require advice on city centre access or parking contact the Tourist Information Centre. Tel: 01865 726871
