In April 2009 a teenager was tragically killed and another seriously injured when the roof of a cave collapsed on them. There are caves all around Bridgnorth in the soft sandstone rock and they can be very dangerous, especially at night and if you light a fire in them.
I know people reading this tip would not contemplate doing that but even if you are there during the day please take extra care near the caves.

I know it sounds obvious but every year the river claims someone either because they misjudge the current or fall in drunk or whatever. It really is a dangerous river and you should take care when walking the banks especially when the river is high. Just the other day 2 council workers trying to clear debris from one of the bridges peirs had to be winched to safety and they had all the protective gear you can name.
