Bizarre Bath: Another kind of tour

    by Rachael71 Written Apr 7, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

If you don't fancy a pub or a restaurant in the evening, but aren't ready to return to your hotel, the Bizarre Bath walking tour might be just what you are looking for.

This 90 minute walking tour leaves from the Huntsman Inn at 8pm every evening, and is unlike any walking tour I have been on before. Magic tricks, practical jokes and lots and lots of laughs make for a really good evening. Oh, and they tell you plenty of stories about Bath as well that make you see the city in quite a different light! Tickets are around £5.00 per person.

Dress Code: Comfortable shoes and a warm jacket.

    Sally Lunn's House...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

On the way back to the hostel, we stopped at this place called sally Lunn's House; It's the oldest house in Bath !
Radek's girlfriend worked here & the place is a restaurant now...
Sally Lunn's House is one of the oldest houses in Bath, built in 1482...Sally Lunn by the way lived here in 1680 & she's famous for her buns ! Which is still being served here in this restaurant !
Okay, this photo was the last photo I took in Bath before going back to the hostel & met up with Radek's girlfriend...we talked all night long !
I had a great feeling as the following day I would start my journey around The Cotswolds, accompanied by 2 great guys : Roger & Patrick !
My Cotswolds journey started in CHELTENHAM [Please click].You can also read my summary plus maps & infos on THE COTSWOLDS

    The Gay Street...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Zooming in on closer on the name Gay Street ! There's nothing gay about the street, neither we could see some gay guys posing for some easy snacks...
Anyway, we thought we better leave because we saw some phantoms among the trees...

    The Gay Street...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Feeling disappointed of not able to take photos around The Royal Crescent, I took a photo of The Gay Street ! Feeling so amusing about the street name so I thought this would make some kind of memory being in Bath !
Using the zooming feature on my digital camera, glad that this photo turns out nicely !

    The Gay Street...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Radek wanted to show me something, a building he said...As he's an architecture student, all the buildings in Bath would make some significants for himself.
    I just followed him...
He actually wanted to show me The Royal Crescent; Sadly the building was not lit at all when we there...I ended up taking a photo of the street leading to The Royal Crescent !
The street is called The Gay Street !

This is the wall just outside The Roman Bath !
I was with Radek when I took this photo & I told him that we could climb in the walls to see The Roman Bath area !
We would love to but Radek had something else to show me !
Anyway, we can see some statues on my photo...

    The Roman Bath...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a sight just outside The Roman Bath at night...I didn't have the chance to go inside The Roman bath due to the timing I reached Bath : Early evening (Roman Bath closed...) & out from Bath very early morning (Roman Bath not yet opened !) so I have to settle to these 2 photos of sights outside The Roman Bath; Still, it makes for some photo memory for myself !
    Love the ambience !

    Bath Abbey...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This is a closer view of the walls of The Bath Abbey...We could see the adorning pillars, the windows; Too bad that I didn't have the chance to see inside the abbey because of the timing when I reached Bath; At least I have these photos as my memories viewing the abbey through my digital camera lense...

by coceng Updated Nov 11, 2004

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

I came closer to The Pulteney Bridge...Pulteney Bridge is the only 2 bridges in Europe to support shops. The other one could be in Florence.
Pulteney Bridge connects the East & West of Bath...
The architect :Robert Adam, [Please click] was commissioned by :Sir William Pulteney, [Please click] to provide a link to his estate hence this bridge is to be seen today.
