Bath Abbey by suvanki A day sack to carry your camera, fleece, waterproof etc
Comfy shoes for walking around the many sights, though most of the attractions are very close together. The weather can be variable, so bring a waterproof or umbrella. Bath is quite a smart place, so you might feel a bit out of place in jeans/t shirts /trainers in some of the more elegant restaurants/ bars at night. However, there are plenty of places were you'd feel comfortable dressed more casually.
Plenty of chemists etc in Bath. The old fashioned pharmacy at the end of Pultney Bridge is worth a visit for stocking up on forgotten items (see my shopping tip)
Bath has some very interesting buildings and sights, so plenty of film/ batteries/ memory card etc should be packed! There are photography shops in Bath if You need to restock
No beach, but plenty of surrounding countryside/ river walks etc. Come prepared for rain though! Leave a Comment

Something you can haul on and off the train!
The weather is unpredictable, as in all of Europe! Bring waterproofs and Flipflops!
You can get EVERYTHING and more, in the city.
Worth having a zoom, as some archittural stuff is hard to get at, eg top of the Abby!
Not really needed, theres only one campsite in Bath, and I don't know where it is! And I LOVE camping!
Smartish clothes. If you want to go out for a nice drink in Bath its worth bringing something vaguely respectable. Trainers are fine in most places. If you want to get back to proper British pubbing, you will need a pair of runners, some baggy joggers and a t shirt (with ample room for beer gut extension!) Leave a Comment

Jack by barryg23 We brought along a teddy for the pictures. Meet Monteray Jack! Makes a nice change from having me in every second picture, don't you think? Leave a Comment

Our gear... by CandS We were lucky enough to have a car so it didn't matter too much, although our backpacks came in handy when carrying our gear from the car to the B&B rooms...
Good walking shoes and wet weather gear are a must! Leave a Comment
