    Abseiling

by Jenniflower Updated Apr 4, 2011

    1.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

We noticed a couple of people doing this at Cheddar Gorge.

The perfect place for this sport, with its sheer cliffs and overhangs, we could see why it's so popular!

There are good places to park along the way at the gorge, there are restaurants for nourishment after a hard few hours abseiling.

Equipment: The abseiling club has all you need, bring necessary trainers and clothing.

    Dogs

by Jenniflower Updated Aug 30, 2007

This is more a sport tip for dogs!

Berrow beach seems to be the place to park your car (on), and take your dog, throw frisbees and listen to music (never mind how loud it is).

This poor little dog has a companion, and they were on a lead, and popped in the boot of the car, with a blanket over them. In their case, their owner (who himself never ventured more than a metre from the car) wasnt their for their exercise.

But many people let their dogs loose and free on the beach for exercise.

We didn't, uh, walk on the beach...

(not our favourite beach you might have realised!)

    Somerset County Cricket Club

by grayfo Written Oct 6, 2013

Somerset County Cricket Club is one of the eighteen county clubs that make up the English and Welsh structure and was formed in 1875 after the playing of a match between the Gentlemen of Somerset and the Gentlemen of Devon at Sidmouth in Devon.

Somerset has played the majority of their home games at the County Ground since 1882. The ground was originally built as part of a sports centre by Taunton Athletic Club in 1881, and became the home of the previously nomadic Somerset County Cricket Club soon after. After leasing the ground for ten years, the club bought the ground in 1896.

Nickname: Formally Somerset Sabres, but now just Somerset (Limited Overs)
