I recently went to Belvederes opening weekend and was very impressed! There were ladies in red dresses and smart jackets greeting me with champagne and taking my contact details in exchange for a 2 for 1 cocktail voucher. (Fair trade if you ask me!). The cocktails were great and got the job done! A few canapes being passed around and great music. One of the better nights I'd had out in Weston in a while! Ladies if you want a fun place to get dressed up I recommend it and boys you have to go to see the pretty ladies in red! Hopefully this place lasts!
Senoritas is the latest opening nightclub in weston, its on the sea front with a large glass conservatory. its actually 3 clubs, Senoritas, then theres a rock bar upstairs and a dnace venue (also upstairs). however its downstairs we'll be talking about today.
On a saturday night its usually free to get in until about 11, at which point they start chraging entrance fees (it varies how much). The drinks there are the usual run of the mill, albeit hideously expensive (£2.80's the going rate for a pint). this wouldn't be so bad except the drinks are usually watered down and/or usually have about a month left on their sell by date. The music is usually chart stuff with a large amount of r&b of varying age thrown in. If you don't like r'n'b then avoid.
Of the bar staff most of them are polish, wth a few locals thrown in, on the whole they're relativly friendly(which a few exceptions (the 2 most attractive ones are the ones that really dislike the general public (justifiably mind you) mainly cos they get the most aggro from them), of the bar maids most of them are attractive although there are one or two mooses. the managers are usually also quite friendly unless your're giving them or one of the staff aggro or their're having a bad night, at which point they are (amusingly) short and to the point as it where. The bulk of the customers are teenage chavs and idiots of varying looks (ranging from fat old and ugly to young almost attractive and dumb) and many of them wearing very little. the loos are truely a sight to behold, to call them a stygian eldritch horror would be a mild understatement. The one redeeming feature of the place is the late opening hours, senoritas are the last bar to clsoe in weston (half 3's last orders) athough the bouncers will start ejecting people about 5 min after the bar closes. at which point much hilarity ensures.
Dress Code: Dress code? laugh out loud
Medbar has recently been given a face lift and looks really good now, for some reason it gets a hard time, but i think its a brilliant place to let your hair down and have a good dance in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The owners, andy and louis have been very succesful in there other clubs too, with Senoritas getting refitted and Latinos getting busier, i think each place is a must for a visit on any night out in Weston!! The music tends to cover a variety in each place, with a little bit of something for everybody...good fun!!
Dress Code: Theres no particular dress code, your there to have fun...not have some bouncer giv you the once over!!
I'd like to say 'excellent kebabs!' but the truth is that everyone normally had more than a few beers by the time they get here so no-one really knows!!
Most of Weston end up here after most nights out so i think that tells us that they're enjoyed and worth goin back for.
Friendly staff but be expecting to bump into a few drunken idiots late at night!
Very popular drinking establishment in Weston. It's called '5 bars' as i believe it has 5 bars..... a pool room downstairs, main bar and restaurant on the ground floor, and dancefloor upstairs, also i think a function room too. It has outside seating and a massive field next to it which acts as an overspill and is ideal for families or a kick-about (obviously drinks must be in plastic cups!) It has a great atmosphere especially at the weekend, drinks are about standard price- maybe abit above, its open til late and plays the usual chart type music. One draw back for the ladies, upstairs in the club bit, there are only 2 toilets and always a queue when its busy so if you think natures gonna call, prepare to queue!
By day this bar boasts a lovely terrace facing the sea, familys welcome(until 7pm), limited food menu (sandwiches, baguettes, panninis, jacket potatoes etc) and coffee and tea served.
By night, decent music and a nice atmosphere. Free Pool all day and night on Mondays and Wednesdays. Drinks aren't cheap (roughly 2.50 bottles, 2.20 for a single spirit and mixer) but they have a nice little cocktail bar and friendly staff. happy hour on cocktails (thats 2for1) between 5pm and 8pm everyday, and 2 for 1 on cocktail jugs all day everyday. Live music from various bands on friday nights, resident DJ Thursday and Saturday nights. Open til about midnight except fridays and saturdays when they're open til 1am.
I'm not saying it's the best night out or anything, but in a middle of the road bunch, its not bad! On sundays they've been doing entry for a pound and a pound for any drink. BARGAIN! Monday night 1 pound to get in 1.50 all drinks, Thursday 3quid to get in drinks offers until midnight. Needless to say i can't really remember what the club is actually like! I seem to have memories of a bouncy castle with a moving surfboard on it(?!), and i'm pretty sure that the music was the usual cheesey chart stuff and comercial dance mixed with old 90s club favourites and plenty of R & B. Open til 12.30am sunday night and later the rest of the week.
Also been voted the best night out by local newspaper readers in the recent bar awards (june 2004).
Update** i think those promotions have changed now, but still simalar kind of thing. Also now over 21's on friday and saturday nights.
Dress Code: None on week nights but not sure about the weekend.
Reopened as Club Vision in July 2004, previously known as Time i believe. Now owned by the same people who own Sands so they have simalar promotions ie in for a penny a pound for all drinks on Tuesdays, 1.50 all drinks all night on thursdays, Celeb apperances. Entry about 4 pounds at the weekend at the moment, cloakroom 1 pound. Much more of a club feel to it than anywhere else in Weston, still probaly not impressive to reglular clubbers but definatley
an improvement on what we had before!
Your basic whetherspoons pub, excellent value for money with little to no atmosphere!Good real ales therefore generally attracting old men most of the time! Friday and Saturday nights get busy with young drinkers as its cheap and cheerfull, (actually just cheap!) until about 10 o'clock when they all go somewhere decent!
Food served all day until about 10pm, average food, reasonably fast at good prices. This pub won the best pub award and best overall establishment in the Weston bar awards in June 2004, personally don't think it deserved these awards unless based on the policys and paperwork side of things rather than from a drinkers point of view. Final verdict, ok for a quick bite to eat or for a few quick cheap drinks on your way out for the night.
Dress Code: None.
Small bar in town center, cocktails are its speciality during the evening with 2 4 £3 and 2 4 £4 offers, aswell as a full cocktail list, many shots for £1. Good music, friendly staff, extra seating upstairs with sofas -be careful if you're wearing a skirt while going up the stairs as you'll usually find carefully positioned lads under the stairs trying to catch a naughty glimpse!! This is a perfect place to start the evening with a few shots and cocktails, good location as its close to everywhere when you're ready to move on.
Also open in the day as a cafe. It serves a good lunch and full coffee menu.
Pub/Bar. Not a favourite of mine. dingey, dark and i think abit of a dive! Standard tunes, standard prices, good location, staff ok, but its just a bit grotty! There are plenty of better places to go in Weston!
Senoritas is the place to go now, newly opened up by a lottery winner who one a million, this place sells cool drinks with hot barmaids and hot girls who frequent the place, the usual tossers in weston don't go here as its too clean, plus cameras everywhere prevent drug use and dealing on the premises. The bouncers are also sound too
Dress Code: i dont know the dress code as i have never been there be for but my friend has so if i was u i would ring up and find out if u r intrested in goin
its a lovely family pub nearly at the bottom of the sea front and on friday nights at around 8pm there is karokay for any age. it is kinda busy in there but it is safe for kids they shut around 12.30am. if u like karaokay you are sure 2 like it.
Dress Code: dress code any think but most people dress up so if you want 2 look more like the rest dress up like u r goin out cuz its worth the effort
