Don't fool around by the waters edge!

by Pauldelabar Written Oct 6, 2005

The pools at Pool Hall are deep.
There are signs stating No Swimming or Wading. They are there for everyones safety.

Always be responsible when near deep water, especially with children.

If anyone falls in, there are lifebelts possitioned around the various pools. Take note of where they are.

It is the responsibility of all visitors to make sure that they clear their own litter from where they fish. Numerous bins are strategically placed. Please use them and help keep the countryside clean and tidy.

Near to the Pool Hall fishery, there is another at Shatterford which also encompasses a wildlife sanctury.

Goats, Deer, Llamas can be seen here at the same time as doing a spot of fishing. Some of the wildlife will come right up to you - they will try and steal your bait if you don't watch them carefully!

    Anyone for bridge?

by Pauldelabar Updated Oct 6, 2005

The old colliery bridge that carried the aerial ropeway stasions has been put to good use in the Country park as a foot bridge to cross the River Severn to the Severn Valley Railway's Halt (small station), on the other side.

    Warning:
The river is deep and can be treacherous, so do not attempt bathing anywhere along the length of the River Severn or at Pool Hall, even wading is dangerous and is forbidden..

    Map of the locality.

by Pauldelabar Updated Aug 12, 2005

Favorite thing: The red road on the map is the Kidderminster to Bridgnorth road.
The railway line just discernable on the extreme left is the Severn Valley Railway steam preservation line.

Pool Hall is clearly indicated, as is the country park. Not shown, however, is the fact that there are at least five pools available to fish.
