The Wulstan: No Sports or Jukebox Jury in here...

    The Wulstan

As mentioned in the Restaurant tips the food is good...
as for drinking its not a pub that is full of blokes wtchin the footy, playing pool etc...
its a decent place to go if you actually want to chat and drink with people, without being drowned out by outside sources..

Great to sit outside on the Summer evenings...really popular this time of the year as they have a kids climbing frame

    Dress Code: No restrictions..

Best on a Friday & Saturday night....
go after 10pm but not much later or you'll spend time queueing outside....
gets various types in there, but generally a lively place at the weekend....

open normal pub hours during the week and to my knowledge DOESN'T do food, which doeasn't matter as there are loads of food joints close by

Dress Code: Relaxed dress code....aren't sure about the Trainers question but I think its ok...

Weatherspons or "Weahthers" as most people know it sells cheaper than usual beer / drinks so is quite a popular place to start the evening off

Very popular with the local "drinking" contingent around about tea-time most nights of the week..

    Dress Code: No restrictions...

  • Wulstan: Extremely poor in so many ways

by iwantgoodservice Updated Aug 17, 2010

Terrible. Service extremely slow and surly. A fairly quiet Tuesday lunchtime, it took three quarters of an hour to get four starters which were nothing to write home about. It took a further 30 minutes to get four pretty poor mains. This place is expensive...£8.50 for 6 pieces of Scampi, nearly £9 for a piece of fish of undisclosed origin and species served with chips and a tiny dab of mushy peas. The fish had a strange slimy texture and was quite unpleasant. It came with two triangles of rather stale bread with a minute pack of butter with which to spread it. The poorest meal I have had in a long time. Such a shame because the Wulstan used to be a good place before it started trying to be something it isn't.

Dress Code: Don't worry, just DO NOT GO THERE!!
