Address: The Library, Ironmarket, Newcastle, Staffs
Holiday Inn Stoke on Trent M6
1 Review and 215 Opinions OK, so it is really in Stoke-on-Trent. I first stayed here in 1995 and it has not changed that much....
The Wulstan: Usual "Big Food" Pub Fayre...
DaveRowley Says:
Its a pub that serves food rather than a Restaurant. The food's nice and good value...The pub's clean and the staff are friendly..and the beers are well looked after
Sausage and mash...mmmmm
Shaw's Chippy: Chips with whatever...
DaveRowley Says:
Usual Fish & Chip shop style with a sit down area at the backGreat chips... I know people may think how can chips taste different from one place to another, but I assure you they do...mmmm :-)
The chips are made in the usual way but they add Beef Dripping in the cooking oil...
Wulstan: Extremely poor in so many ways
iwantgoodservice Says:
Terrible. Service extremely slow and surly. A fairly quiet Tuesday lunchtime, it took three quarters of an hour to get four starters which were nothing to write home about. It took a further 30 minutes to get four pretty poor mains. This place is expensive...£8.50 for 6...
Edward's: Young & Trendy....
DaveRowley Says:
Eating and Drinking in the day...Drinking at night..... too posh for me....haha
Aren't sure....long time since I went in...
The Castle: Named after the Town..
DaveRowley Says:
Drinking only...no eating here...This pub is named after and situated alongside the site where the Old Castle was...
No restrictions...
The Full Moon: Indie Bands and Good Music...
DaveRowley Says:
The Full Moon is probably at this moment in time the main Bar were various Bands play...whether good or bad...alot of "Cover bands" play here, again some good some bad....
No restrictions....
The Wulstan: No Sports or Jukebox Jury in here...
DaveRowley Says:
As mentioned in the Restaurant tips the food is good...as for drinking its not a pub that is full of blokes wtchin the footy, playing pool etc...its a decent place to go if you actually want to chat and drink with people, without being drowned out by outside sources..Great...
The Britannia Inn: Another local pub...
DaveRowley Says:
Standard expectations of nearly every pub around nowadays....brewery controlled beer, large sports screen, pub food, etc...
No restrictions..
The Cavalier: As mad as when we're in there... :-)
DaveRowley Says:
Full of local people with local people running itKeep it up Keith & Sue,Aldo & Ju....TOP BOOZER.... :-)PS: Good place for Functions (for @ 70 people) and they do a good spread at a decent price
My Goodness..."Av u ever..."

The local bus station is directly in the centre of the Town, providing bus transport in all directions across North and Mid Staffordshire, South Cheshire, North Shropshire, South Cheshire and a service via Buxton, Tideswell and up to Sheffield.
Specific Travel passes are available and the buses are not in bad nick compared to years gone by...

The Roebuck Centre: Shopping...for those that like to :-)
DaveRowley Says:
Newcastle's shops are spread around the Town, and not all in on space or building as are many modern Town / City Shopping Centres..The Roebuck Centre has just a few of the Town's shopsThe good thing is its directly attached to the Town's multi-storey Car Park.
The Roebuck...
"The Stones Market": Cheap & Cheerful....Fruit, Veg and lots more...
DaveRowley Says:
Stones' Market sells the usual array that most markets do... fruit, veg, hardware, cards, phone cases, suitcases, cd's, etc etcIts run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays
I get my fruit off one of the stalls.. £1 for a large bag of Bananas, the same for a bag of...
The Town Centre...
DaveRowley Says:
Whether its in the day to Shop or Eat, or at night to Drink, Dance and Eat, then the main 2 streets that house most facilities are the Ironmarket and the High Street. They are not long Streets as such and run at 90 degrees to each other. The Ironmarket is positioned @ halfway...
mmmmmmmm................
DaveRowley Says:
