Walking around this small town reveals an interesting variety of building styles. There are buildings ranging in era from mediaeval to Georgean brick. It is quite an eye opener in such a small place. The chuch in the centre of town is also quite unusual because its tower is separted from the main building.
On our brief visit to Beccles we required a coffee - after a quick look around it became clear that the best place in town was Twyfords.
Twyfords is a nice looking cafe located in an old Tailor/Outfitters shop. They have delicious looking cakes, hand made chocolates, ice creams and light meals.
Favorite Dish: We had a 'cafe au lait' and couldn't resist a tasty treat....Alex had the Apple Caramel Crunch and I had a Pecan Tart - both were particularly rich and delicious.
Service here was efficient and friendly, coffee was ok and the atmosphere was perfect - the large windows giving you a chance to watch the Beccles residents and tourists alike wander by.
