The Ferry Boat Inn is a cool old pub located close to the ferry terminal at the northern end of Felixstowe. It dates back to the 15th century, and has lovely flagstone floors, low ceilings and a wood burning stove. The walls are lined with old photos and drawings of days gone by.
Make sure you check out the plaque showing the flood levels over the years - one year the water came up to the top of the bar!
Favorite Dish: The FBI (as the locals call it) has a good selection of beers, and reportedly serves up some decent food as well.
We popped in there for a drink one afternoon, after a long walk by the sea. We sat inside and enjoyed the old world atmosphere. There are also tables outside, wind permitting.
people who lives in sufolk recommend this place as the best one. you will be attended by some venerable women in their early ????ties. we tried some fish that none of us knew (i was afraid it cud be the 3eyed fish from the simpsons). but it was really tasty (and i hvnt died ... yet). care with desserts, delicious but like a bomb in ur stomach if u are not used to extracalorics! (hhmm i am used to!)
Favorite Dish: the hypercaloric bomb!!!
Are you kidding? My father spent many an hour here and would have killed me if I didn't visit and tip a pint for him
Favorite Dish: A pint of Double Diamond....Memories and a family tradition
