We only wanted a light lunch and we were pleased to find this maritime - ships galley- themed restaurant in the square occupied by Shire Hall.
In the narrow room there were wooden seats, low ceiling and many ocean related pictures, plates and things scattered around. Further in you can see the long, narrow kitchen - just like a ship's galley.
We only wanted the soup and some bread so we were very pleased to receive a corn and chilli soup with a good mixture of breads and large juicy olives to accompany it. My second photo shows the lunch just after it arrived at our table.
Favorite Dish:
Difficult to say as we only tried the soup etc but I bet it's good whatever you have.
We had a wonderful meal here in the summer of 2006.
Ugur Vata and his team provide fantastic food made from local Suffolk produce. Their hospitality was top notch too. There's a great wine list - we had a superb Lebanese Musar.
Certainly not the cheapest restaurant in the area, but easily worth it.
Highly recommended for a special meal.
