Get the right Cavern

From Sourbugger's Liverpool page :Facing each other on Matthew street is the Cavern Club and the Cavern Pub.They probably interconnect somewhere, and they are owned by the same company - but many visitors (and sometime locals) seem to have become confused about where the Beatles actually played.It is the Cavern Club that you want -and down several flights of stairs in a grungy cellar bar you can still see the crummy little stage where music was changed forever.I'm glad to say that the management don't appear to mind hoardes of tourists coming into the bar for free, taking a picture and then fleeing again. It would however seem curlish not to at least by a drink.The 'pub' has tons of stuff in it from the sixties and early seventies. After all, it was not only the Beatles that played the Cavern but other such greats as :Chuck Berry, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones, Status Quo, Judas...

One example of a wonderful place to visit is the Osborne House in East Cowes.In 1845 Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought Osborne House and its 1000 acres. Osborne House was a retreat for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. They greatly enjoyed the Isle of Wight, far from the pressures court life at Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.Queen Victoria, after Albert died, spent most of her time at Osborne House and she died there in 1901. The longest reigning english monarch (1837 to 1901). Since her death little has changed at Osborne and many of the royal couple's possessions, photographs and paintings are still at Osborne. .

If you are in England in the summer months, you really should consider checking out a Folk Festival. There are many of these all over the country, and range from one day events through weekenders (the most common) up to week long affairs like Sidmouth, Broadstairs and Whitby.Some of the larger ones, like Cambridge are held on closed sites and are quite expensive, but the vast majority take place in towns and villages, and there are many free events (donations may be solicited). You can get to see pub sessions by some top class musicians, along with other idiots like me!Additionally, you will undoubtedly encounter the ubiquitous morris dancers, groups of men or women (very occasionally mixed) who wear odd coustumes and dance traditional dances.
