    Warwick Spice: Good Indian!

    by kirsty_lamb Updated Apr 4, 2011

Very good attentive service, and the food was really tasty. The nan bread was one of the nicest I've had, and on top of all of this, if you have a ticket from warwick castle, you get 10% off your bill (at least when we went we did....there was an advert in their window, right hand side telling you about it)

    Favorite Dish: The nan bread

Thai Elephant: Dont miss the Thai Elephant

    by kirsty_lamb Updated Apr 4, 2011

I wan't sure about going in here as it looked just like a bar, but if you go in, there is the most beautif Thai restaurant. Lovely decor and very attentive staff, but not in a pushy oppressive way at all. The food was lovely, really nice, and there was just nothing at all you could find fault with here. The food was comparible to what we ate when we were in Asia.

Favorite Dish: The House shared starters. Deliscious and you get a bit of a few things to try!

  • Catalan: Taste Of Spain & the Medeterainian

by FishnetFilly Written Nov 17, 2006

Inside you will find a warm greeting from the proprietor, Malcolm, who will find you a suitable table in this small but pleasantly furnished restaurant. There is always a good selection of Tapas available, a lunch time menu and a main evening menu.
The staff have always been pleasant, and the best thing is - it's very inexpensive!
There is a good selection of wines, and althought the bar area is quite small, why not just pop in for a drink and peruse the menu?

Favorite Dish: Favourite dishes for me are the Tapas. I find them extreemly tasty and such a good choice too.

The Crown and castle: Good Pub food

    by kirsty_lamb Written Sep 4, 2006

Fantastic £4.50 all you can eat carvery, and it's so much nicer than it's £4.50 price tag! On a Sunday it's about £6.000 though. There is a nice bar area as well as the restaurant which is smallish. The bar has a few booths and an open area. Nice friendly staff. There is also just a regular pub food menu.

Favorite Dish: I have never had such a nice carvery....the meat was lovely and he choice of vegetables was great. All cooked fantastically well!

    The Bear Inn: Historic Inn

by eddilowe Updated Jul 20, 2005

This old inn was used by Cromwells troops in the English Civil War.

Oak beams, roaring fires, hundreds of empty wine bottles, many with candle wax dripping all down the sides collected on shelves all round the walls, cosy little nooks and crannys to sit in for a romantic meal.

They don't take bookings from memory.

    ADDITIONAL INFO
As you drive through Meriden you will pass a monument on the village green claiming to be the centre of England. Sadly the actual geographic centre of England is apparently 11 miles away at Lindley Hall Farm.

Favorite Dish: No one thing in particular. All the meals I've had here have been lovely.

  • Try the Local Pubs

by ElaineCatherine Written Jan 5, 2005

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Try the local pubs for a nice lunch. They usually have pretty varied fare. Sandwiches, cheeseburgers, some have fish and chips. They can be a bit pricey, but it's nice to get a real taste of England. This one here in Stratford-upon-Avon was really good.

One thing that surprised me is that people sit and smoke during dinner. It's totally normal to see people smoking at the table. We never see that in America.

Favorite Dish: Cheeseburgers, chips and a half pint of local!

Crossed Khukris Gurka Restaurant: Taste of Nepal~ Nuneaton

    by denise16 Written Oct 12, 2004

This place could be unique in being the only restaurant served by serving Gurkha soldiers. As you can imagine the service is excellent. The food is a mixture of Chinese and Indian style food and very good.
To eat in or take out.
    Closed Mondays.

Favorite Dish: Poleko Paneer and sizzling serving of paneer cheese & mixed vegetables.
