Warwick Castle by andywing I live in Warwick and we have a lot of tourists visiting It's very common to hear from people that they are on coach trips and they "Did" Buckingham Palace this morning, Blenhiem Palace at lunchtime and were quite tired by the time they got to Warwick Castle in the afternoon! They must be mad, all that they have done is take a photograph of all three! Slow down, take your time and relax, your on holiday (sorry, vacation)! Leave a Comment

Don't queue for ages to see the dungeon in Warwick Castle it's down the stairs to a cold, dank, dark, empty box room, and that's all. I have to admit that it is very atmospheric and it's hard to comprehend prisoners spending twenty years down there, but, I've seen people queue for hours on a busy weekends just to go down there; there is just one narrow staircase to go down so it's difficult to get crowds in and out quickly. The rest of the Castle has displays, exhibitions, demonstrations, activities, education and more. If there's a queue for the dungeon, go and look at something else!
If you must see it and there's a queue, leave it as late as you can. The queues die down in late afternoon. Leave a Comment

Castle by barryg23 I know it is Warwick's best sight and is worth seeing but the castle is quite expensive. There's no real way around this if you want to see it! Leave a Comment

There was a line outside this part of the castle the entire time we were there so we finally decided to go wait in it and were rather disappointed. There really isn't much down there, the queue forms because there is only one staircase going both up and down. It's really just a dark room with not much to see, there was a few torture implements on the wall but certainly nothing I haven't seen displayed much better somewhere else.
Try to go first thing when you get there if it's early. If time is short, you could even skip this part as it's really not that interesting. Leave a Comment

by kathycollins The Toussaud's wax figures add to the touristy feel, but help the unimaginative and the young to understand what the castle's history was all about. Really, it's a great place to see multiple layers of history portrayed in 1 place. Leave a Comment
