by Imbi O’ Brian’s Sandwich Bar is situated in Sherbourne Arcade. The look of its is very interesting as it like an old island and a bridge connects it with arcade floor. O’ Brian’s Sandwich Bar also have different corner named to different country and cities. I remember seeing Birmingham, Chicago, Glasgow, Singapore and Belfast. It seems to me that place remains busy most of the time. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

by Imbi The Lanchester Restaurant is located in Coventry University, where both students and staff can go if they require a more refined atmosphere. The Lanchester Restaurant is the circular building. It is open in the mornings and afternoons for tea, coffee and Danish pastries, but over the lunchtime period serves a menu, which is very competitively priced. The restaurant is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 12 noon for morning coffee 12 noon to 2.30pm for lunches 2.30pm to 3.30pm for afternoon tea Leave a Comment Theme: Other

This recently opened restaurant is a comtempory design with a very warm welcome. Desi is Indian for homemade or authentic. It makes a pleasant change to see such a varied menu with over 90 dishes to the menu. Students get a 10% discount on dining in and a further 5% on take outs~ which is handy because it is close to the university. The chef makes a point of coming to speak to guests and ask their opinions. He asks for a negative and a posiutive and claims that todays negatvies will be tomorrows positives. A restaurant favoured by the local Indian community, so that it always a sign of authenticity. Specialises in SOuthern Indian and Punjabi style food with lots of recipes from the Chef's Grandmother.
Allo Zeera Dry potatoes cooked with cumin seeds. Lovely is the best word to describe them. Dhingri Mattar Masala- mushrooms and snow peas was also good but a little hot for my personal taste. The pineapple pickle didn't not work for me or my friend, but you might like it. Leave a Comment Theme: IndianComparison: about averageAddress: 83 Far Gosford Street. taken from their webpage by denise16 A delightful Indian resturant that has recently won awards for its food. The outside is decorated with hanging baskets and is one of the medival building in Spon Street. Inside there are lots of nocks and crannies, plenty of opportunity for that romantic meal. Upstairs you can book a curtained off area, where you recline on cushions. Another room is called the Kama Sutra. The food was wodnerful and the service first class. Choice of over 100 dishes Leave a Comment Theme: IndianComparison: more expensive than averageAddress: Medival Spon StreetPhone: 024 7622 6603Directions: Near to the Skydome Ice Rink and cinema complexWebsite: http://www.turmericgold.co.uk

enjoying teh shisha pipe after a meal by denise16 looking for somewhere a little different, this is the place. Downstairs is laid out like a traditional resturant but upstairs you can lounge on the floor cushions if your back can take it. Round of a meal with a shisha (bong pipe) all legal. A place where people meet to chat, smoke and drink coffee.
Any of the vegetarian food. Staff are very willing to make suggestions. Leave a Comment Theme: Middle EasternComparison: about averageAddress: Far Gosford StreetDirections: Short walk from centre. Past the University library. Area has a slight run down look about it.

by grayfo The restaurant is a small, neighbourhood Indian restaurant close to the centre of Earlsdon, a suburb of Coventry. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very friendly and always busy as the restaurant is very popular.

Wing Wah - Coventry by grayfo This big and rather functional Chinese restaurant offers fantastic value if all-you-can-eat buffets are your thing, choice includes teppenyaki, sushi, sashami, Japanese, Chinese duck etc. Although the drinks are over priced. I found the food to be of a high standard and have always found the staff to be polite. coventry@wingwah.net

For a laid back lunch of bagels, etc. this cafe-bar at the botom of medevial Spon Street is the palce for you. It transforms into a music venue at night. I recently revisited this place and sadly it has gone down hill, poor choice of food, dirty and badly run. April 2006

A number of places spring to mind: Old Orleans - Located in the SkyDome complex, although part of a chain, it serves reasonably priced food and is right on the doorstep of the 3 nightclubs so that you can go boogy off the 1000 calories that you have just consumed. Location location location!

A great Thai place, deceptively small from the outside but amazingly, a fair amount of room inside. Great Thai food, good service and worth a visit if you don't mind spending a little bit of money - though not horrendously expensive.
Fishcakes - yummy Leave a Comment Theme: OtherDirections: London Road (on the corner of Gulson Road - 5 minutes walk into the City Centre)
