Its an old pub serving the usual pub food ,but a bit better than normal in a swanky but relaxed dining room. Comfy chairs and an abiltiy to wander about means that its an enjoyable place to eat.

    Favorite Dish: Steak and Chips

Traditional pub food and recently more modern food in a pub built in the 11th century and trading under the same name since 1679.

Pub/Resteraunt that serves mediocre food but has a nice lounge bar with a pool table.

The main bar fills up with resteraunt goers and the dreaded office parties getting drunk and playing bar skittles ,but the lounge is o.k you can play pool or watch the cricket.

Dress Code: Sports jacket and jeans ( urgh ) or the villanous " chino" rule the main bar.

Now more of a fun-fair than a sheep fair ,foot and mouth means there are only 100,000 sheep on the downs and there was one sheep for sale last year.
However it 's still the centre of village life and is every 14th of September and dates from the 11th century.

One the nicest grounds in the county ,on the back slope of Church Hill ,just sit back with a beer in the sun and watch the slowest game in world sport. If your not from the Commonwealth ( or Canadian ) you won't understand whats going on ,but its the essential English experience.

Equipment: Deck Chair ,Sandwiches, as many bottles of Tanglefoot as the you can carry
